What is it about?
In November 2023, the Czech government commissioned the national drug coordinator Mr. Jindřich Voboril to submit a draft bill on cannabis regulation. The bill is expected to go to the Chamber of Deputies for the first reading in early 2024 and the vote should take place the same year.
Representatives of the Czech hemp cluster (CzecHemp), Safe Cannabis Association (ABK) and Legalizace.cz established an NGO called Racionální regulace (Rational Regulation), which is preparing a nationwide campaign to put pressure on the political representation and thus contribute significantly to the adoption of the regulation bill.
Who’s behind this effort?
The campaign strategy and marketing management will be carried out by the well established and renowned agency KONTRA.
Libor DUBA
Founder of company Zelená Země, where Mr. Duba still works as an external consultant. Since 2007, he has held senior management positions in the food, drug and cosmetics industry.
Lukáš HURT
Editor-in-chief and publisher of Konopí magazine. Manager of CzecHemp, registered cannabis patient, founding member of the KOPAC patient association and vice-chairman of the Legalizace.cz association.
Pavel KUBŮ
Chairman of the cannabis patient association KOPAC, co-founder of Chain Pharmaceuticals and Director of Medical Development at P4P. He has been involved in research and development of medical treatments for over 20.
Tomáš PRUSEK
Founder and co-owner of Naarden, a leading Czech distributor of advanced growing supplies. Designer of medical cannabis cultivation facilities.
Tomáš RYŠKA
Social and medical anthropologist who has been researching cannabis for almost thirty years. He is a founding partner of the Swiss holding company Astrasana Holding AG. In the Czech Republic he is the CEO of Astrasana Czech and Releaf.
Robert VEVERKA
Publisher of magazine Legalizace,chairman of the association Legalizace.cz, member of the supervisory board of CzecHemp and member of the Prague City Council Commission for Drug Policy.
Tomáš VYMAZAL
Former member of the Czech Parliament, author of the proposal that increased the Czech limit for THC content in hemp to one per cent. Chairman of Asociace bezpečného konopí association.
Why should I support the campaign?

What my money will be used for?

We will only use part of the amount you pledge in the first phase – we will use it to pay for the strategy preparation, the manager’s salary, web development and social media management. We will also usethe money to prepare the crowdfunding campaign. If there are any funds left over, we will use them in phase 2.

The rest of the pledged money will be used in a crowdfunding campaign once it is launched. This way we will be able to accelerate the crowdfunding.

We will use the collected funds to implement the communication campaign and we will transparently account for every penny spent. We will prepare a regular summary of activities and expenditures for sponsors.

It’s time to regulate cannabis!
The current repressive state approach to cannabis has proven dysfunctional and counterproductive. Both possession and cultivation for personal use are criminalised and a large proportion of users are forced to rely on the illegal market, with significant negative health and social impacts.
